Sausalito · Marin County

Cleaning built for Sausalito’s salt air, fog, and hillside homes.

We are a few minutes up Bridgeway from Old Town, and we have been cleaning Sausalito floors and fabrics since 1976.

Cleaning in Sausalito, and what makes it different

Sausalito is one of the shortest drives we make. Our shop sits on Shoreline Highway in Mill Valley, which puts our trucks in Old Town, the Banana Belt, or up on Wolfback Ridge in under fifteen minutes — and it means we can usually work you into the schedule the same week you call.

The marine layer is the thing that actually changes how we work here. Fog and humidity sit in Sausalito longer than they do inland, so textiles give up moisture more slowly. We extract harder, plan air movement before we start, and tell you honestly at the estimate whether a winter morning appointment is going to leave your carpet damp into the evening.

The other Sausalito constant is salt. Salt-laden dust comes in off the bay and off the road, and it settles into grout lines, entry stone, and traffic lanes. It is abrasive, and it holds moisture. Regular cleaning here is less about how a floor looks and more about how long it lasts.

Local conditions

What Sausalito does to floors and fabrics

Fog, damp, and drying time

Truck-mounted extraction pulls out far more moisture than a portable unit, which matters most in a town where the air itself is damp. We will tell you the realistic dry time for your rooms, not a brochure number, and we can set air movers where a fast turnaround matters.

Houseboats and dock access

Working off a dock at Waldo Point, Liberty Dock, or Yellow Ferry means long hose runs from the truck and careful handling of what we carry down the walkway. It is normal work for us. Tell us the berth when you book and we will arrive set up for it.

Salt air on stone and grout

Salt and marine grit are hard on porous surfaces. Sealers on entry stone and grout break down faster here than they do in a dry inland house, which is why we usually recommend cleaning and resealing on the shorter end of the two-to-three-year window.

FAQ

Sausalito questions we get asked

Do you clean houseboats in Sausalito?

Yes. We work the docks at Waldo Point, Liberty Dock, Yellow Ferry, and the surrounding harbors regularly. The truck stays in the lot and we run hose down the walkway, so tell us your berth number when you book and we will plan the run.

Can your truck reach my house on a narrow hillside street?

Almost always. Truck-mounted equipment works from long hose runs, so the truck can sit at the nearest legal parking while we work several flights up. If your access is unusually tight, send a photo of the street when you book and we will tell you exactly how we will handle it.

Is there a driving charge to Sausalito?

No. Sausalito is inside our standard service area. Driving charges only apply to extended West Marin areas, and we quote those upfront before you book.

Should I wait for summer to have carpets cleaned in Sausalito?

No need. Damp coastal weather lengthens drying time, it does not prevent good cleaning. We extract thoroughly and can add air movers, and we will give you an honest dry-time estimate for the day you pick.
